Abstract study
Since many of my subjects and what interests me about them have become more and more abstract, I have been meaning to concentrate on abstract photography for a while now. And one afternoon the wild called and I had to pick up the camera and go out to shoot. Once I was out and started photographing the mundane, up close, it struck me how full, rich and inspiring a single puddle of water can be… There is no struggle to find a theme or subject, there is so much out there when you let your imagination guide you that you can barely stop. The struggle was more like to make myself go home at some point 🙂
I call this collection a study, since the the pictures that came out of it were more for me to see what I can do with forms, lines and patterns around and to learn how to recognize and capture what I seek in the ordinary, mundane world around us. While some of the photos I really enjoy, I also see that if I would to do some of them again, I would look for a different composition, different angle, etc. This session has definitely taught me a lot and I can’t wait for the next one!
